Description
George W. Bush was the 46th Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. He grew up in Midland before attending both Yale and Harvard universities. He returned to Texas to work as a businessman before he was elected Governor. Bush was elected the 43rd President of the United States and served from 2000 to 2009. Upon election, he became the only Texas governor to have been elected to the nation's highest office. The portrait hangs in the Capitol Rotunda.
