Description

For centuries, Texans have been gathering around holiday trees. The Texas Capitol's first holiday tree, placed at the entrance of the building in 1914, was known as the "mightiest cedar in Travis County." Over a century later, this tradition continues with the annual delivery of several Texas-grown pines, brought in by horse-drawn carriage and presented to the governor, lieutenant governor and Speaker of the House.

These 20+ foot trees, proudly decorated with the official Texas Capitol holiday ornaments, are placed in the Senate and House Chambers where they remain on display to the public throughout the holiday season.

Ornament measures 3.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches across.
