Number eleven in the series, this enchanting Capitol Ornament prominently displays the Texas Goddess of Liberty. This outstanding feature of the Capitol stands almost 16 feet tall and weighs about 2,000 pounds. Architect E. E. Myers of Detroit designed the statue as the crowning element of the Texas Capitol. She was originally made of 80 separate cast zinc pieces that were welded together to form four major secitons. Final assembly and installation was completed in late February, 1888. Made in the USA.
