Number eight in the series, this handsomely detailed Capitol Ornament captures the magnificent pedestrian entrance gates at the main south lawn walkway known as the Great Walk. Completed in 1890, they were part of the overall landscaping design by prominent Texas civil engineer William Munro Johnson. The original wrought iron fence, with its elegant gates, was painted black and featured the fabled five-pointed Lone Star at the head of each paling. Each Lone Star was gilded with gold leaf. Made in the USA.
